Child Haus

Christmas is all about sharing your blessings whether in the form of monetary or in kind. This year, I choose to give back the blessings I have received by giving my charitable donation of time and care into the lives of those less fortunate.

This project has been organized by one of our big boss, Ms. Brenda Sabenit who chooses CHILD HAUS as the beneficiary of the outreach program. CHILD HAUS is the temporary shelter for indigent patients from the different provinces who have cancer or other dreaded diseases and have no place to stay in Metro Manila while undergoing medical evaluation or treatment. It is the multifaceted health and social development undertaking of the Ricky Reyes Foundation, an NGO, PCSO, MMDA, Technology and Livelihood Resource Center (TLRC), Philippine Tuberculosis Society Quezon Institute (PTS-QI) and various specialty hospitals and medical facilities.

It was a fun filled activity for the children that started with a mass offering with a very nice message from reverend father Volunteer/s is God’s one way of showing his love to his less fortunate children. No matter how appalling their situation is, they can still feel God’s love and care through these volunteer people." Right after the mass, refreshments were served and a few games and magic tricks were facilitated by the clowns. Simultaneously, there is a face painting happening and a photo booth on the corner to take unlimited souvenir shots. Seeing the smile on these children's faces and hearing their laughter is truly priceless.

Food is also flowing on that day. Our group prepared such variety that will delight those children like chocolate fondue, cotton candies and meals from Jollibee. It’s a humble experience to spend a day in the lives of these children who in such a young age were fighting their hardest battle in life. Everyone is deeply touched on how these young brave people still can smile despite their condition. The highlight of the event is the gift giving from the generous person behind this outreach project, our big boss – Ms. Breda who shared her personal story about her fight with cancer and gives a message of hope to every child including us.

It's very happy to see those less fortunate children enjoying their time of their life. Even though the time we spent with them is very limited, it is touching to know that we made them happy, most especially when they perform their song number; it is a heart warming indeed. ♥
